The Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) program has been developed by NAHB to help home remodeling professionals meet the needs of the burgeoning "baby boomer" market. In a three class program, CAPS teaches the strategies and techniques for marketing, designing and building aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments. Going beyond just universal design, CAPS also addresses the communication and technical needs of the older adult market. The CAPS designation program adds value to that knowledge by providing insights into marketing and working with this demographic group.

The Certified Aging in Place Specialist Designation from NAHB is made up of 3 courses. You must pay for and complete all 3 courses and pay a graduation fee to NAHB to receive the Designation. There is a contiuing education requirement to renew your designation.

CAPS I: Marketing and Communications Strategies for Aging and Accessibility ~ Explain the 3 segments within the Aging-in-Place market that present business opportunities for building professionals * Implement a process for promoting new opportunities for products and services in the Aging-in-Place market * Enhance your sales process with effective techniques for the Aging-in-Place market.
