Liz and Dave Rink and their daughter, Brianna Janssen
How did you get involved in the design industry?
D.E. Rink Construction Inc has been building in Central Oregon since 1979. We are remodeling specialists: including custom residential and commercial and medical spaces. Liz and Dave Rink built many spec homes in the '90s and realized the benefit of having an experienced designer/decorator involved in each project. Our daughter Brianna Janssen is now involved in the business as our Office Manager; giving us a young, fresh point of view.
What inspires you?
The outdoors: hiking, skiing, biking, kayaking, boating.
What is your favorite 'green' product?
The new concrete countertops. Especially the IceStone with the recycled glass that shines in the sun. Energy efficiency, recycling, clean and healthy buildings have been our focus since the '80's.
What was your most challenging project and why?
One of our most challenging projects recently was an historic restoration of a home on Broadway and Louisianna St. in Bend. Taking a 1920's little old house and remodeling it into a livable, technically updated, modern home which celebrates the original charm and decor.
What is the best advice you’ve ever given or received?
Our words to live by are:

Which project are you most proud of?
The Deep Restaurant on Wall St. in Bend is a remodel we are very proud of. Now in use by Five Fusion Restaurant, the building was gutted and upgraded into a five star restaurant space. The floating water feature was invented by our crew. As the light reflects through the water it gives a soft underwater movement to the space.
