Historic Home Lecture - Recap

Heidi Slaybaugh and Heidi Kennedy presented a slideshow on styles, benefits and guidelines for historic homes.

"Here is the list of references that I had at the lecture the other night. Thanks again for setting that up, it was my pleasure to present to your group. Please let anyone know if they have more questions that they are welcome to also call or email me."

City of Bend Website for historic preservation http://www.ci.bend.or.us/depts/community_development/planning_division_2/historic_preservation.html
There are a number of links here regarding historic resources in Bend: maps, national register nominations, City applications, Bend Historic Preservation Code, How-To's, the Success Stories article, and grants. We have contacted the State Historic Preservation Office regarding the lead paint abatement regulations. As soon as something is printed, we will add a link to it from this website too.

National Park Service

The National Park Service archeologists, architects, curators, historians, and other cultural resource professionals work in America’s nearly 400 national parks to preserve, protect, and share the history of this land and its people. Beyond the parks, the National Park Service is part of a national preservation partnership working with American Indian tribes, states, local governments, nonprofit organizations, historic property owners, and others who believe in the importance of our shared heritage – and its preservation. The National Park Service also develops standards and guidelines for historic rehabilitation projects, offers “how to” advice for hands-on preservationists, and helps find new owners for historic lighthouses.

Antique Home Website

The Antique Home Website is a great resource for quick information on exterior architectural styles and images of appropriate historic interiors. This will be added as a resource link from the City's historic preservation webpage too.
