How did you get involved in the design industry?
I was looking for a job and instead I bought the first Decorating Den franchise in Central Oregon in 1990.
What inspires you?
Things found in nature and "everyday heroes."
What is your favorite 'green' product?
Forbo Linoleum. It's amazing what can be done with lino and it's been manufactured in the same "green" fashion for 125 years!
What was your most challenging project and why?
The first "PAC" house for the 1998 Tour of Homes--the installers were grouting the tile as we were moving furniture in only 3 hours before it started on Friday afternoon.
Which project are you most proud of?
Professionally, they're all special but I'm most proud of the house I just finished in North Rim.
What is the best advice you’ve ever given or received?
In six months you're not going to remember what the big deal was--don't sweat the small stuff.
